A few simple habits keep local tire deals smooth for buyers and sellers alike.
Meet somewhere public
Pick a busy, well-lit spot during the day, a shopping center lot or a police-station exchange zone works great. Bring a friend if you can, and let someone know where you're headed.
Inspect before you pay
Check tread depth, look for uneven wear, dry cracking, plugs, and patches, and read the DOT date so you know how old the tires really are. If it doesn't match the listing, walk.
Pay in a way you trust
Cash in person is simplest for local deals. If you use an app, confirm the payment clears before the tires change hands. Never send money up front to hold a set you haven't seen.
Watch for listings that feel off
Prices far below everything else, sellers rushing you, or anyone who won't meet locally are all reasons to slow down. A real local seller is fine taking a few questions.
Keep it on the platform
Do your messaging through Tire Trader so there's a record of the conversation. Be wary of anyone pushing you to move to another app right away.
Report a problem
